A passing verse, a snatch of thought,
Whatever I am, forget me not,
And write me down into this book
So upon it girls and boys may look -
And although time shall brown these pages,
May all the children down the ages
Live your life as if they were there
Through the thoughts that here you shall share -
So scribble down your fantasies
While you still have the chance to see
How liquid are the rays of sun
And moistness of sweet fairy bun,
The ripples in a pristine pond
And cherry lips and long hair blond,
A crack of light in clouded sky
The silence laughter did defy –
Because now if you so much as blink
Like poor Titanic all life shall sink
Your memories shall take wing and fly
Towards the end where all hope shall die.
So scribble down your fantasies
While you still have the chance to see
How wonderful your world really was
Away from time’s long and greedy claws.
