If Jesus took the Pain

Sliding through my skin

A red trail left behind

A stinging from sensation

A peace I'll never find

Stunning all my nerves

The blade will calm my fears

Shedding drops of blood

Instead of wasting tears

A room as dark as night

I cannot think at all

Focusing on things

That only make me fall

Pain it stains my mind

It stabs hard at my heart

Wish it'd go away

It's tearing me apart

Letting out a scream

Hope it will go away

But the torture stays

Wish I could runaway

So desperate to escape

But pulling back is doubt

Trying to find a way

A way I can get out

Hearing only silence

A droplet hits the floor

Escaping all the pain

This moment I adore

Still I feel so lost

So trapped inside this pain

Is it gone for good

Or will it come again?

Some people cut themselves

in search of a way out

but i am here to tell you

there's no reason left to doubt

the pain you think you need to feel

is not one you deserve

cause when you're looking close enough

you'll see who we all serve

a God who made it easier

a God who made a way

why would you cut yourself

if Jesus took the pain?
