INNER CITY BLUES IS A STRUGGLE I SING ABOUT IF YOU DONT UNDERSTAND IT IT'S BECAUSE YOU NEVER LIVED THE LIFE WHEN YOU LIVE IN INNER CITY BLUES YOU SEE DOPE DEALERS AND DOPE FIENDS,LITTLE CHILDREN WITH BIG DREAMS AND SOME CHILDREN HAVE NO DREAMS AND NO HOPE FOR NO-THINGS YOUR EVERY DAY LIFE IS A STRUGGLE IN THE HOOD YOUR EVERYDAY LIFE IS A HUSTLE IN THE HOOD SOMETIMES I KNEEL AND PRAY, THAT JESUS WOULD ,COME BACK ANDTAKE HEAVEN FROM THE SKY AND MOVE IT A BLOCK AWAY THEN WE WOULDN'T HAVE FAR TO GO WHEN WE DIE- INNER CITY BLUES IS SOMETHING EVERYONE IN THE GHETTO PROJECTS KNOW ABOUT IF YOU DONT UNDERSTAND IT IT'S BECAUSE YOU NEVER LIVED THE LIFE PROSTITUES ON EVERY CORNER,PIMPS ON EVERY CORNER AND IT DOSENT MATTER WHICH ONE THEY'RE STILL GONNA GET YOUR DAUGHTER I WONDER SOMETIMES HOW ARE WE GOING TO SURVIVE WHEN WE HAVE A LIQUOR STORE AND DRUG DEALER ON EVERY CORNER. AND IT'S EASY FOR THE GOVERNMENT YOU SEE-BECAUSE THEY TRY AND MAKE US BELIEVE TAHT THIS COUNTRY ISN'T RUINED BY THEIR GOVERNMENTAL AND PRESIDENTIAL GREED AND EVERY DAY WE BLEED IN THIS COUNTRY NOT REALIZING THAT AMERICA IS DYING -SILENTELY AND VIOLENTELY SOMETIMES I FEEL LIKE GOD EYES ISNT WATCHING ME. I PRAY FOR THE DAY TO COME WHEN GOD SHINES HIS LIGHT ON MY LIFE BUT INNER CITY BLUES IS A STRUGGLE I SING ABOUT IF YOU DONT UNDERSTAND IT IT'S BECAUSE YOU NEVER LIVED THE LIFE WHILE WE ARE REMEMBERING LET'S NOT FORGET THE GHETTO PROJECTS IN THIS COUNTRY WE NEED TO SURVIVE TOO WE DIE EVERY DAY AND THERE IS NOONE TO SAVE US AND IT'S A SAD REALITY THAT WE CANT EVEN SAVE OURSELVES |
