another old poem
Sounds

I thought I heard some sounds around...
I thought by now I'd have come around...

A radio sang a song about
what assassins shout out loud,
inside some sounds around
the filaments and frowns.
I watched it happen in the space of a
laser sight, set at a heart,
right inside these sounds around;
a jukebox and a clown...
saying,
"If I was out of line, I was
smashed around a sound she liked.
I just had a glass of alcohol in mind."

In this fuzzed out
black and white sheet glass,
in another black and white romance,
what gets said,
gets said all over again;
but staring blankly through your eyes,
with sleeplessness at best tonight...

I'm caught between choosing sides,
It wasn't what I had in mind.
Like a time from my memory,
dancing on a dune to the tune of you
basked in the glow of a half moon
in the sky...
I want to hear it will turn out fine
in that same sky...

I thought I heard some sounds around...
then the jukebox turned off
and the lights came on.
