"Requiem for the Dead" A tribute for the outcasts of society, the mentally ill. |
Requiem aeternam dona eis, Domine; et lux perpetuam luceat eis. Exaudi orationem meam; ad te omnis caro veniet. Sometimes I sit and wonder How many stories went untold, Within these halls, Behind these walls; What horrors went before. Sometimes I sit and wonder About the wandering souls, Who fought the strife, Who clung to life With no promises ahead. Sometimes I sit and wonder How many did wither and die, Within these halls, Behind these walls; No solace in life did find. Sometimes I sit and wonder If any mourned their passing; Or if were quick forgot Once buried in the plot Beneath the surface of the soil. Sometimes I sit and wonder How those of normal psyche Can mercilessly laugh and rally At those without ally- Those in tribulation, deemed without good sense. Sometimes I sit and wonder About the wandering souls Within the asylums who did pass And watch the world behind the glass; Tormented by the terrors of their mind. Sometimes I sit and wonder How so important could I dismiss, That no matter how quick forgot Once in a plot By the sane outside the walls; He who notices the sparrow small As it falls to fly no more Has not forgot the wandering lost; He sees and remembers all. Requiem aeternam dona eis, Domine; et lux perpetuam luceat eis. Kyrie eleison. Christe eleison. |
