Missing the Light

                                          In the light or the darkness,
                                          in the darkness of my days,
                                            people don't understand,
                                            understand all my ways.

                                              Somthing is missing,
                                          there is a hole gaping deep.
                                            Feelings I've never had,
                                        Happiness is unknown to me.
                                              Now, I've lost myself.

                                              How I feel is beyond me,
                                                  out of my control.
                                              The thoughts racing by,
                                              of only remorse and pain.

                                          For nothing has even felt right,
                                            I'm out of my head with pain.
                                  There's always that darkness creeping up,
                                          a nagging that never secedes.

                                            Even through the laughter,
                                              and times I call great,
                          the fun and the joy are nothing but mere illusion,
                                      fading before my heart can give in.

                                          I feel stuck with confusion,
                                            Trapped by brick walls.
                                                  Nowhere to go,
                                          With the world on my mind.
