MELANCHOLY

                        I feel the pain in the pits of my being
                It swells like the angry waves of a storm-filled sea

                    I am trapped in the abyss of my darkness
                                Held there by the pain
              Surrounded by the void that feels my wakening hours

            The sun rise but the shadows of the night taunt me
                                  It inhabits my soul
                        My spirit is waxed with its hues

                      I try to escape but it envelopes me
                      Entwining me in the ropes of despair
                                  There is no escape

                                        I retreat
                  And the only memento left behind is sorrow
                        Found in the gaping hole in my heart.
