The Beatific and The Flawless Chapter 2

CHAPTER 2 – REMINISCE PART 1
Okay, that was a bit fast. I think I should back up a bit and explain myself.
Let me start with when I was 8, when Rain was one year old and I was at school.


I am sitting beneath a big, old, oak tree on a hot summer’s day in July. My best friends, Phoenix, Saffron and Violet are sitting with me. I am telling them all about something really cute Rain had done. Phoenix laughs and flicks back her long dark red hair. Her red-brown eyes are outlined in dark red eyeliner. Saffron is too busy putting black eyeliner on around her dark brown eyes and checking her yellow-blonde hair is neat. Her full lips are smeared with hot pink lipstick and clear lip-gloss. Violet elbows her, and looks at me with her amazingly purple eyes, then grins and looks at Saffron as she pokes herself in the eye with her eyeliner. I say, “Nice one, Saffron. You should have been listening.” She agrees and laughs. A gust of wind blows Saffron’s GOTH BEAUTY magazine away into a stream about 3 miles away. Violet, Phoenix and I all laugh as Saffron chases her magazine, yelling. The bell rings for class, and we all head off.
