The sun goes down and light slowly fades,
As I'm watching the sky and admiring the shades,
Of orange and yellow, fiery red,
Gods beautiful light show before the sun goes to bed.
The sun reaches out with a few streams of light,
As it holds on, trying to not slip into the night.
I admire the scene and wish it never ends,
But realize it's not stopping, it simply extends,
From the blazing transition to a bright starry night,
I can't help but admire the breathtaking sight.
As the sun goes down in one last scene of grandeur,
The moon takes its place in a more dignified manner,
Slipping into the sky rightfully taking it's throne,
As the prince of the skies noble but not alone,
Surrounded by it's subjects shining all around,
Sparkling and shimmering as if bowing down,
Acknowledging the nobility of the guiding light,
Of the wary traveler or the sailor navigating at night.
I can only watch in amazement at the glorious scene,
Until the sun comes back again with its first brilliant beam.
