A poem about something so painful, yet something so joyous.
A Mothers Wish; For April Lyn

All is crushed,
On this dark night.
My raped body,
Mangled; left to die.
Only to survive,
And create life.

Her tiny hands,
Holding such joy.
How can something of beauty
Come from something so awful?
Knowing not what brought her,
So innocent and sweet.

I'll protect you,
Never will he touch.
Tearfully I hand you across,
Sad and happy knowing it's right.
Only thirteen,
A child caring for another.

Did what must be done,
Moving to escape the pain.
Never to return,
Maybe one day.
Not knowing when,
To some; it's the ultimate sin.

Not my fault,
Not my choice.
Something so painful,
Yet so joyous.
Take care my child,
Till we meet again.
