Just a poem I wrote
The forest of time surrounds my body.
Its lifeless trees seem to stir with energy.
The loathsome boughs take my corpse in custody
In these shadows love seems almost an allergy.
In the darkness I see eyes not of this world,
In this sunless abyss, I hear sin's growls.
I'm frightened, I'm hungered, and I'm growing cold.
Time has impaled me into torment's bowels
Where am I? Who am I? How did this happen?
How has time become so misshapen?

I remember when my time had begun.
The days flew by and my soul was at peace,
Each minute went by, each hour went on.
I never thought that these moments would cease.
But hear I am, alone in the dark,
Trying so hard, to turn back the clock,
All that surrounds me is time's deadened bark.
All that consumes me are years that I've walked.
Where am I? Who am I? How did this happen?
How has time become so misshapen?

I try and cry out, hoping someone hears,
The tangling branches are getting tight.
Suddenly! Someone to hide away my fears!
In the distance, I see a glint of light!
Please come closer!  Take me far from here,
Who is there? Can you help? Friend or foe?
They're getting nearer, their outline is clear.
Take me away from time, take me from woe!
Where am I? Who am I? How did this happen?
How has time become so misshapen?

As the shadow gets closer, I recognize
The one whom I treasure, the one whom I love.
The one whom I adore, but the one who lies.
Do I take the hand, or do I wait for God above?
My heart did once belong to thee, but time,
Time had come and destroyed you and me.
The rivers we crossed, the mountains we climbed,
Meant nothing when you had broken free.
Where am I? Who am I? How did this happen?
How has time become so misshapen?

I have to let go, let go of your love,
I can save myself from the forest of time,
My heart deserves to soar like a dove
Once I'm free, life will be as smooth as a rhyme.
The trees are withdrawing, I can move again,
My heart has forgiven but not forgotten,
Now there is a message that I send
Now that you've left, my life has brightened.
I am home, I am free, I can finally breath
Since time has passed, I no longer grieve.
