The Hubble telescope

The Hubble telescope
has captured exploding, frozen light
at the end of the universe.

Before it we are as nothing,
small and sad and lost.

The fields of stars and hallucinated
colour-clouds, so far and beautiful, on fire;

I think of her and feel the force, that
enormity inside me, that distant burning,
and the space between us.

But I am on fire!
