my new home

I thought it was a hobo house,
home to cockroach, rat and mouse.
It was dirty, full of dust,
cracks and chips and rot and dust.

My parents cleaned it, I helped too.
We scrubbed until the floor shone through.
The dirt ran down the walls like sludge.
Every bit of dirt was budged!

Now the house is clean and light
and everything inside is right.
The cat has settled in and smiles
and it's the nicest home for miles.
