The darker side of me.

I Am


To feel your uncaring arms
around me
brings a sadness beyond
repair.
Alas, I thought we were
one again-
only to find a destitute
abandonment.
Lingering, yet distant,
your embrace
was a staggering
reminder.
I am the one.
I am the reason.
I am the darkness.
I am the pain.
I am the sorrow.
I am the distress.
I am.
ME.
I am.
