No one cares (especially me)

I heard a poem the other day about a person and their "accident"
It was recited in class
in the traditional over dramatic stylings of someone wounded.
I looked around in amazement.
They were moved!
Why?
I understand that you hurt,
I can sympathize to some extent.
I'm not a monster.

However, the only reason this poem was created was for attention.
At least that was the only way it was used.
It conveyed that their life was changed forever and-
(here's the good part) that nobody cares
Nobody cares!!!
Let it just be said, people did care.
even in the poem they said everyone cared in the hospital.
You are lucky to be functioning and you try to put this guilt on me!
People were there for the person at any rate.
But afterwards, once the person recovered,
at least enough to pity themselves,
everyone drifted to other matters.
The loneliness overshadowed the person's ailments.
why don't they just admit,
they would rather be in the safety of their hospital bed.
Where no one judges them.
Where everyone cares.

But sooner or later you have to rise up.
Dear god, have some pride
be that person who actually cares rather than be dependent.
How many people did they care about while they were visited?
i bet the number is low.
People casted off their problems for the victim.
How many times has the role reversed?

Life is the most complex and simple game.
and when you see yourself below everyone else
you have lost utterly.
You forfeit your mental strength for emotional weakness.
I know why you aren't happy.

How soon you recover is directly connected to how soon you realize-

No one gives a damn about what happened to you years ago!!!

They shouldn't have to.
You don't deserve that much...
Get over it.
