Dear Mother,

Things are ok around here. Some sad things are happening here. The woods have been cut down to make a new houseing dvelopment next door. We have lost our pigs because of the government. My husband had horriable luke at an auction [He could'nt meat the first bid so he came home earley]. But there is good news. Mattew and Mark are back in school and getting good grades. I'v also got a job at a factory. I hope our luck gets better soon.
