Operation White Flood

Operation White Flood was a co-operative movement started in a small town of Gujarat (India) for the collective efforts of the dairy farmers there. It proved a huge success and became a brand name.

Head covered against relentless sun’s rays that flay parched land,
squinting eyes radiating lines of sorrow, struggle and resolution,
The middle man shall cut away at precious earnings no more,
even Mariben who owned that thin scraggly cow shall join in
united effort to gather cohort, to collect all milked bounty.
Trucks shall churn dusty roads to the homes of well-fed children,
they shall drink deep of nourishment, so our own can thrive.
