Basement

Most of us think of the dark
When the word basement is used
Where dangers start
A place of torture and abuse

I guess this story
Became the same
Because of you and me
A love not tamed

He brought you in
Everything that you had
He started the sin
Knowing I was so sad

My tears were shed both day and night
For him to love me
I loved him with all my might
But he chose not to see

Your love was so true
Though I was alone
As I lay above you,
I  was about to do him wrong

Stollen kisses and your touch
Was how it started out
He did not know how much
You made me want to shout.

I told him that he had made a mistake
To bring you in to our home
She had hurt you and I lay awake
My heart felt all alone

I don’t think he knew
How much you meant
To my bleeding heart so blue
For our love I would not repent

‘Cause I went down the stairs to
Hold you tight and want you so badly
Then leaving it undone for you

Oh how I went to work those hours
Wishing I had made the move  to you
Have climbed into bed and made life ours

Well, that time in the room
Under where my marriage lay
Is now in a tomb
In the corners of my heart today

Now due to the miles
We have let go too
Of the lusty smiles
Our always love stay true

“That you left me so many times.

As you went on with your crimes”

What he caused in the room
Under our wedding bed
Was what kept away the gloom
It kept me from being dead.


Inspired my an ex husband that had left me three times, took his kisses and touch from me, knowingly brought my best friend into our home, and did not listen when I told him that I may cheat. Inspired my a friend and a lover that is still my best friend.  Let me know what you think.
