Emotions

Many thoughts run through my restless mind
Finding it hard to assign emotion
Each one trying to find its place
If only I could quiet my mind
Control eludes me

My soul is restless
My heart swells with feelings that words cannot express
Circumstance, winds of fate, destiny and desire
Ultimately love
Vulnerability overwhelms me
Fear of uncertainty no longer exists

Time is the only obstacle
Never silent, always painfully aware
Constantly screaming in my ears
If only I could quiet my mind
Desire consumes

Separated by distance
Together in my heart
Never far away
Always present
Comforting my restless soul

With each passing day one step closer
The anticipated reunion
Fuels my soul
Sustains my will
Calms my restless mind
Love ultimately quiets my mind and overwhelms my heart
