The Crazy Trip To The Bahamas

On June 12th in Miami, Florida a yacht sails out to sea carrying 10 people, most of them know each other but there are two twins who are unfamiliar to everyone named Paul and Charlie Hanes. The people on the yacht include: The Captain Antonio Ramirez, The First Mate Michaelangelo Torres, Me Nekeisha Gadwood, My Best Friend and Twin Brianna Williams, The Nurse Cassi Collicott, The Marine Biologist Amesha Murray, The Olympic Swimmer Katarina Salvadores, Paul Hanes who is a stranger to all of us and is constantly carrying a knife, The Science Teacher Summer Fine and Charlie Hanes. We are scheduled to arrive in the Bahamas on June 14th, but when we get a hundred miles out from land a hurricane hits and the yacht sinks underneath the swelling ten foot tides, Antonio and Michaelangelo go down with the yacht as well as Katarina, Paul and Charlie. All we have to get us to the Bahamas now is a raft that only five people fit in and no one can hold on to the sides because if they do the raft is sure to fall. The water is infested with hungry sharks that will eat anyone who is in the water. Luckily Antonio, Michaelangelo and Katarina can swim so the sharks don’t get them. Paul is carrying a knife and has pulled it out several times already in arguments with Antonio and Michaelangelo so when he is thrown in the water we are all happy. Charlie on the other hand isn’t very happy because he can’t swim very well so he’s afraid of getting eaten by the sharks.
We have one inflatable raft that holds five people, enough food and water for five people to keep us hydrated and fed for 3 days so we won’t arrive in the Bahamas until June 15th. We also have two oars, a flare gun with three shots to ward off the sharks, a med kit, a waterproof map of the Caribbean and a locator beacon. Katarina, Michaelangelo and Antonio swim to the Bahamas because living in Miami it is a ways to get to the Bahamas but they know the way so while we are in the raft we are following them to get to the Bahamas. It is now June 14th and we are supposed to be in the Bahamas on the Beach getting ready to celebrate mine and Brianna’s birthday that is the whole reason we were invited to go on this trip, but we still have a day before we get there. The sharks have eaten Paul and Charlie so we no longer have to worry about them and the sharks are still hungry but not as hungry as they were when we started out. Our supply of food and water is running a little low but we still have enough to get us through the day. We are expecting to be in the Bahamas around 10 in the morning on June 15th and we are all praying that it happens.
The counterparts of some of us left on the same day from the Miami International Airport they include My husband Kyle, our twins Emmalaya and Jaden, Brianna’s husband Jerome, The Second Captain Ray, The Second First mate Pasha, Cassi’s husband Matthew, Mine and Kyle’s Hired Auto Mechanic Bashermal, Antonio’s Daughters Elena and Maria, Antonio’s Wife Carina, Michaelangelo’s wife Christie, Michaelangelo’s twins Maria and Mario, Summer’s Husband Christian and the Professional fisherman Jose. They are in the Bahamas as scheduled so they are taking charge of renting Cars from Enterprise Car Rentals and Rental Agent Raul Salvadore. After they have all rented cars they head to the Royal Bahaman Beach Hotel.
It is now June 15th at 9 am we are almost to the Bahamas, our supply of food and water is low but we have enough to last us another hour. I say: “We are so close and our food and water is really low, we only have enough for another hour so let’s pray for God to help us get to the Bahamas and relax. We don’t have to worry about luggage because it all went on the plane with the other members of our team. We have our overnight bags that we brought along with enough clothes that have lasted this entire trip, most of us brought our cell phones so we can call when we make it to land and then our “family” will tell us what rooms we are in. I wish we could’ve been there sooner but Mother Nature had a different plan.” Brianna then says “I’ll pray.” I say “Okay, let’s all bow our heads.” Brianna says “Dear Heavenly Father we thank you for this day, and this opportunity to be together for a couple of weeks to celebrate Mine and Nikki’s 25th birthday which is coming up in a couple of days, we thank you that we have wonderful parents who care about us and really wanted to be with us but they were not able to come because of some health issues, I pray that you protect them and help them to heal. We also ask that you protect us while we are in the Bahamas and help us to get there safely. We know the other members of our “family” are anxious for us to meet them at our hotel, I know we are all especially excited. Protect us and guide us. In your son’s holy name Amen.” Antonio then says “We finally made it, we’re here.” “I then say, that’s great!” Brianna asks “Who wants to call and let our family know that we’re here and we’re safe?” I say “We are on the beach and the hotel is just up the hill, we just need to walk up the hill with our raft and then find out what rooms we are in.” Brianna pipes in “I have my cell phone out so I’ll call my husband and tell him to let the others know that we are here.” Everyone says “Okay”. I then say “Just to let you all know when we head back to Miami we are flying back because it would be too much of a hassle to find another yacht to take us back. Mine and Brianna’s parents bought all of us plane tickets to get back to Miami as our birthday present. I called them last night while some of you were sleeping to let them know that the hurricane destroyed our yacht so we had to use the remaining raft to get here.” Everyone says “That’s awesome.” Brianna says “Yes that is our parents make a lot of money so they can afford stuff like this. I just got off the phone with my husband he is letting the others know that we made it safely and they are meeting us at the top of the hill on the nice, warm, sandy beach.” {My twins irritating habit of smacking when she chews caused a mutiny but we survived and no one was hurt.}
It is now 10:30 am and we meet up with our family members, who, of course are extremely excited to see us and extremely thankful that we are all safe and sound. Emmalaya, my twin daughter is crying so I hold her and she calms down and then my twin son Jaden is now crying so I give Emmalaya back to my husband and hold Jaden. My husband at the same time has his arm around me and says “I love you so much, I was so worried that you weren’t going to make it, I prayed so hard that you would get here safely, I missed you and I’m glad that you are safe and we are here as a family.” I then say “I love you to honey, I started to worry early this morning that we weren’t going to make it, I was praying so hard, but we made it and I’m glad. It’s time to go to our room, get unpacked and spend some time as a family.” Before we all go to our rooms I get the group together and say “We are all going to eat lunch together so let’s meet here at noon and we can discuss where we want to go from there. I read that there are several good restaurants here in the Bahamas I will make a list and then we can vote on where we want to eat.” After that we are all on our merry way. All of our hotel rooms are on the second floor starting with room 201 and ending with room 211 because everyone wants to be together especially since so many of us weren’t there on the 14th. Antonio and Carina Ramirez are in room 201, Maria and Elena Ramirez are in room 202 and Antonio’s brother Jose is in room 203 because they want to keep their family close. Michaelangelo and Christie Torres are in room 204 while their kids Maria and Mario are in rooms 205 and 206. Me, my husband, our kids, Brianna and Her Husband are all in room 207. Cassi, Matt and Amesha are all in room 208 because Amesha and Cassi wanted to be in the same room. Katarina, Summer and Christian are all in room 209 because Katarina and Christian are Twins so they wanted to be in the same room and besides that Summer and Katarina are close to each other. Ray and Pasha are in room 210 because they have sailed with each other for about 5 years now and they wanted to be in the same room while Bashermal is in room 211 because even though Kyle and I have hired him he wants to be in a different room.
It is now noon and we all gather where we first met up with each other Kyle and I have to be careful because our twins are sleeping and we don’t want to wake them, we have them in their car seats already, all we need to do is put the car seats in our rented Black Porsche Convertible. I get in front of the group and say “I have a list of a few places we can go and eat all of them sound exquisite so this may be a hard decision. The choices are Café Matisse, Sun and… Restaurant, Rock House, “Le Med” which is a Mediterranean restaurant, Luciano’s and Chez Willie.” Brianna says “Raise your hand if you want to go to Café Matisse.” Everyone raises their hand to that one. I say “Alright it’s settled we are going to Café Matisse, it is a little ways away so let’s all jump in our rented cars and go. I know we all rented convertibles so I want to see tops down because this is beautiful weather.” My husband then says “Since our kids are sleeping we will have our top up so we don’t wake them, but I still want to see everyone’s top down.” When we get to the restaurant we have to wait until they find a table big enough for all of us since there are so many of us . When we are finally seated my husband says “Let’s take a moment and thank the lord for the food we are about to eat. Who would like to say grace?” Amesha says “I’ll do it!” Amesha then says “Let’s all bow our heads and thank God for this glorious day.” Amesha starts out “Dear Heavenly Father we are truly grateful for this day that you have blessed us with, we are also grateful that all of us got here safely. Thank you for the food we are about to consume and for the hands that prepared our meals. Help us to have a safe trip home when we leave and to have a good time when we celebrate Nikki and Brianna’s birthday. In your son’s name Amen.” After that is done everyone orders. We all get our food and start to eat. When we are halfway through the meal my sleeping twin babies wake up so Kyle and I pick each of them up and feed them and then Kyle takes Jaden to the restroom to change his diaper and I take Emmalaya to the bathroom to change her diaper. After that is done we put the twins back in their car seats but leave them unbuckled until we are ready to go back to the hotel. When we are finished eating, Kyle and I buckle the twins back in their car seats. Kyle then says “When we get back to the hotel I think it would be fun if all of us got our swimming suits on to go swimming. If you don’t want to go swimming you can grab a lawn chair and lay on the beach but its beautiful weather so I don’t know who wouldn’t want to go swimming.” Summer then says “I don’t know what you guys think about this idea but I think anyone of us who want to should have a race to see how far we can swim.” Everyone says “That would be fun! Let’s do it!” I then say “After we are done swimming, we can all go to the mall to look around and maybe do some shopping and then grab a bite to eat afterwards.”
It is now 8pm and it’s just starting to get dark out, we are done swimming so we all go back to our hotel rooms and change for a night out. We all meet in front of the hotel and Kyle says “Since we are all going to the mall when we get there we will need to find a spot to make our meeting place, you can go to as many stores that you want to go to but we will be meeting back up at oh let’s say 10pm even though that’s a little late we will all decide a place in the mall that we want to eat or we can go back to the hotel and grab something there and then go to bed.”
We get to the mall and we are in the front doors by Bath and Body Works Kyle says “We will meet back her at 10pm and then find a place to eat.” Jerome says “Tomorrow is a big day because even though Brianna and Nikki’s birthday is the 17th we are going to celebrate it tomorrow because Kyle and I are planning something special for them on their birthday.” Kyle says “That’s right but we are having a party tomorrow. So, tonight as you are shopping find something fun to wear to the party, unless you already have something to wear.” Kyle then says “Brianna and Nikki I would like you two to find something fancy to wear for your birthday. Nikki I’ll take care of the kids, you and Brianna go shop.” Brianna and I say “Okay.” After that Brianna and I see the store Deb so I say to Brianna “There’s Deb they have a lot of fancy clothes that aren’t too expensive let’s go there.” Brianna says “Okay. I wonder what our crazy husbands are planning for us on our birthday.” I say “I don’t know but I’m sure it’s going to be extra special and really great.”
The next day passes Brianna and I have a great party and had so much fun but we are anxious to see what our husbands have planned for us.
It is now June 17th Brianna, Kyle, Jerome and I all get up early but we have to be quiet because Emmalaya and Jaden are still sleeping. Kyle says “All right my lovely ladies here’s what’s going on today… this morning the two of you are going to the spa so wear something comfortable. Jerome then says “After you are done at the spa you are going to Déjà vu Nail Salon to get your nails done. Kyle then says “After you get your nails done you are getting your hair done. And after all of that the four of us are going to the bar to have some fun.” I then say “Honey, what about Emmalaya and Jaden?” Kyle says “It’s okay honey Summer and Christian are going to take care of them tonight when we go out. I’ll take care of them while you are getting pampered.” I say “Okay babe.” Brianna and I get Pampered the entire day and when we get back to the hotel we get our party clothes on and go to the bar. We have a wonderful night and after we are done at the bar we get back to the hotel and go straight to bed. Kyle talked to Christian to let him know that we will be down in the morning to pick our babies up because he and Jerome wanted to make it a relaxing night.
Another week passes and it’s time to go home. It’s now June 21st and we are all ready to go home. We arrive at the Royal Bahaman Airport at 5am turn in our rental cars and get on the plane. When we land in Miami it’s June 23rd we pick up our family cars and go home. So even though our yacht was destroyed we made it home safe and sound. We had fun and we are all glad to be home.
