From the ground up we built it
to withstand the tests of time
and storms
and war.
Not yet fallen, it's on the brink
asway against a wind
unlike any
known before.
Fears are left unspoken.
The words of such
won't touch
a loving heart divided.
Will it all remain unbroken?
Awash in quiet lonesome
on a melancholy night,
"Come home,"
a plea unheard.
Upon the grass lies morning dew
when silent air is pierced,
unexpected
comes a word.
Tempests, tears and sorrow,
are signs you find
when you ask for time.
But I say only that I love you,
like there is a tomorrow.
