Part trese...it still sucks but like I said I DON'T CARE!!! |
Author Note: Okay, this is the next…and it’s from Allison’s viewpoint…because she’s an important part of the story. And this time no one’s singing the song…it’s just like, if this were a movie, it’d be background music. Allison was almost ready to go to sleep, but she wasn’t tired. She was hurt by Baylie’s outburst of earlier, and she wanted answers. She wanted them soon. She had gone to Adam, ready to cry, after the incident, and when he’d promised her answers, she, satisfied with the promise, moved to James’ comfort. “She’s a pain, Allie,” he said, not using a curse since he was in church. “Ignore her.” But Allison couldn’t. Baylie had always been sweet…a bit annoying, sure enough…but she’d never blown up at anyone that way that Allison knew of. Adam had not had time to give her the answer she wanted. As she worried and pondered, her cell phone went off. Quickly she answered it, hoping it was Adam. “Hello?” “Allison?” It was Baylie. “Oh, hi.” “Are you mad at me?” “What?” “Are you mad at me for breaking down?” “No…I’m just disappointed that you feel that way.” “Well, it doesn’t matter…because I’m a disappointment to people everywhere. I want to say something.” “What?” “I’m sorry…I love you…you’re a big sister to me…” Baylie’s voice was starting to choke up. “It’s just…things have to work out the way they do…even if it hurts people sometimes…you know?” “What are you talking about?” “Girl…I don’t know when I’ll see you again…” “Did you take your medication?” Allison asked, referring to Baylie’s anti-depressant medication she’d been taking. She heard a small sigh on the other end. “It never really worked…not well…so I took more tonight…maybe now it’ll have effect.” Allison’s heart began to race. “Sweetie, how much did you take?” “The whole bottle...” Allison cried out. “How could you do that? I thought we talked about this!” “We did…but I had to do it…you wouldn’t understand…I’ll be fine.” “No you won’t. I’m calling 911.” I think we have an emergency I think we have an emergency “No! Please don’t!” Baylie’s voice was panicked and frightened, but it was getting weaker. “Just let me be…I’ll be all right…I deserve this…” “No, girl, you don’t. Stay on the phone with me, okay?” Allison ran out of her room and downstairs. “Don’t hang up.” “Why? What are you doing?” “Sweetie, I want you to live…I love you too, girl…don’t die on me…what’s your address?” Baylie gave it to her. If you thought I'd leave, then you were wrong Cause I won't stop holding on So are you listening? So are you watching me? “Good. Now hang on, okay?” “Allison, please don’t call them. I only want to talk to you…I don’t want to go to the hospital…” “Well you’re going to.” Allison reached the living room, where her mother sat on the couch. She put her hand over the receiver and said frantically, “Mom, call an ambulance.” “Why?” Lucy jumped up. “Allison Bethany, what’s going on?” “It’s Baylie…she…took an entire bottle of anti-depressants…and she doesn’t want me to, but I’m calling the police…” She stuck her phone back to her ear as her mother reached for the house phone. “Baylie?” “Allie?” Baylie’s voice was thinning. “Girl, don’t hang up.” If you thought I'd leave, then you were wrong Cause I won't stop holding on. This is an emergency So are you listening? Lucy was making the ambulance call and giving the address and the name. “Allie…this was the only way out…and I didn’t want to cut myself again…” “Oh, girl, listen…you’re going to live…it’s going to be okay…look, I want to talk to you until…well, until some stuff happens. Is that okay?” “Um…all right…but what if I want to go to sleep?” “Don’t, girl, don’t...sleep’s never good when you’ve taken too much medicine.” While the two talked, Allison wrote down information for Lucy, who told the paramedic on the other line. Finally Lucy hung up and said, “Someone’s there…and we’re on our way to the hospital to wait for her. Tell her you gotta go and get dressed, okay?” “All right.” Allison turned to the phone. “Baylie, I gotta go, girl…but I’ll see you very, very soon, okay? I love you!” They hung up. And I can't pretend that I don't see this it's really not your fault When no one cares to talk about it [Can we talk about it] Cause I've seen love die Way too many times When it deserved to be alive (deserved to be alive) I've seen you cry Way too many times When you deserved to be alive (alive) So you give up every chance you get Just to feel new again I think we have an emergency I think we have an emergency And you do your best to show me love, but you don't know what love is. we have an emergency So are you listening? Well I can't pretend that I don't see this But it's really not your fault When no one cares to talk about it [can we talk about it?] Cause I've seen love die Way too many times When it deserved to be alive (deserved to be alive) I've seen you cry Way too many times When you deserved to be alive (alive) Scars, they will not fade away.
