This is for all of us that have struggles with this word. |

What is Godly submission? Submission must first and always be to God and His Son Jesus Christ. But again I ask what is Godly submission? The word submission provokes many women to anger. Just the word spoken in office talk can get some women going on and on about how submission is bad and takes over our lives. Women now think that they have to be the one wearing the pants in the family and giving in to a man (any man, I might add) is like giving away our right to bear children. (Which is a privaledge I might add.) We tend to think, in this day and age, that we as women are far more useful than a man is. Boy, I bet that Satan is jumping up and down with glee over the lie he has made us all believe. I can image at the same time Satan is jumping up and down with this glee, our Lord and Savior is shaking His might head at our stupidity. We are so easily blinded by Satan. He has easily made us all believe that women should be “Head of Household.” This kind of message presented to our blinded eyes has turned our world upside down and inside out. Our children are left to fend for them selves and our men have become lazy and complacent, or they just disappear leaving their responsibility in the hands of a woman who doesn’t have a clue how to do life right. Women are now forced to take care of the family, work and still buy diner for the dead beat across the table, which sees a strong willed woman who wants to wear the pants. Women have all but giving verbal approval for men to no longer carry the responsibilities associated with being a Godly man. (Which is what their forefathers taught them.) So, Godly women, what are we to do about this? 1 Peter 3:1-6 says: 1Wives, in the same way be submissive to your husbands so that, if any of them do not believe the word, they may be won over without words by the behavior of their wives, 2when they see the purity and reverence of your lives. 3Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as braided hair and the wearing of gold jewelry and fine clothes. 4Instead, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God's sight. 5For this is the way the holy women of the past who put their hope in God used to make themselves beautiful. They were submissive to their own husbands, 6like Sarah, who obeyed Abraham and called him her master. You are her daughters if you do what is right and do not give way to fear. I think verse 4 here should be our moto, read it again… “Instead, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God's sight.” We first, as women of God should submit to Christ our Savior and Lord first and foremost!!!!!!! Period. Submitting to Christ is the hardest thing we will ever be asked to do. If we can not submit to Christ then we can never submit to our husbands and bosses. If we can not submit to Christ, our lives will always be marked with pain and suffering. But who am I kidding, even if we submit to Christ, our lives can and will be marked with pain and suffering. The only difference between these two statements is the submission of Christ. Everything falls into place when we bow down and submit. Everything. God amazes me every time I turn around. I may submit more to Christ than my husband at times, but I find more often than not my husband comes to me in the quietness of peace and safety to seek my advice on family matters. When I submit to Christ, my husband who is not saved submits to Christ also. It always amazes me how much my husband relies on my submission to Christ without him realizing it. 1 Corinthians 7:12-16 Paul speaking… 12To the rest I say this (I, not the Lord): If any brother has a wife who is not a believer and she is willing to live with him, he must not divorce her. 13And if a woman has a husband who is not a believer and he is willing to live with her, she must not divorce him. 14For the unbelieving husband has been sanctified through his wife, and the unbelieving wife has been sanctified through her believing husband. Otherwise your children would be unclean, but as it is, they are holy. 15But if the unbeliever leaves, let him do so. A believing man or woman is not bound in such circumstances; God has called us to live in peace. 16How do you know, wife, whether you will save your husband? Or, how do you know, husband, whether you will save your wife? God already gave us an answer for how to deal with this, didn’t He? We are to love our husbands with the same love we have for Christ. We are to act as Godly as we possible can. We must lead by example, which is very hard for us to do. But we all know that “all things are possible with Christ.” I pray we all will bring our loved ones to Christ through the powerful example that Christ has shown us. |
