I'm many things you claim I am,
but more of these I'm not.
Which of these I am, in fact,
is the question that is sought.
It seems the need to know myself
is my deepest aspiration;
yet as I sense the answer looming,
I am filled with hesitation.
For it's likely not a single soul
truly grasps its own reflection;
throughout this journey ever-changing,
one must often shift direction.
"Describe yourself," I often
hear, as if it is that clear.
It isn't as straightforward
as the image in the mirror --
When this is posed, one expects
a lucid resolution,
with hopes my simple counter
will present any solutions.
But certainly this statement
need be a self-evaluation,
for when I truly know myself
I will know my destination.
I anticipate enlightenment
will present itself in time;
for the moment, my page is blank
outside of a few lines:
I'm merely a lonely wanderer,
attempting to find his place;
just looking for an explanation
to fill this empty space...
