Blossoms once
cloaked branches of trees,
but now fallen on the ground
create a carpet of pale pink and white.
Green leaves now clothe limbs above
with a canopy shading
blossom carpets.
Blossoms lasted
such a short time
before their hands turned loose,
allowing them to drift to the ground below.
The newborn grass gladly welcomed them,
giving them a bed
to lie.
Now blossoms
coat the area beneath
the place where they were born.
Where else should they be, where else indeed,
but providing a blanket for trees
providing the source of
blossom carpets.
