A poem about the inner spirit of a teenager. |
Inner Wolf She grows agressive as school begins, I tie her up in her cage, Making her angrier. She snarls as lunch approaches, Tired of being caged. She begins to beg when entering the bus. "Free me!" She whines. I come home. My mother snaps at me. She pounces at the cage latch, Snarling. I hush her and slink to my room. By dinner, she is howling. For the freedom she desires. My sister hits at me. She is free. "Look at me!" I'm free!" She screams with pleasure. I am punished. She is broken with agony And shoved back in the cage. I hate her. She pleas for my love. I refuse to answer. She reminds me of the Power she gives me. I unlock the cage. She takes over. I am punished again. She is shoved back in the cage. She pleas. I ignore. The power. I release her once more. She grows bigger. We run free. I feel the power pound through My veins that have been starved. "Meet me, her inner wolf!" She screams. "Say hello to the other half!"
