A Time For a New Beginning

MY NAME IS BROOKLYNN KAY LOWRY

It is spring, a time of new beginnings. I know the trees and flowers are blooming and children run and play.

I'm in a warm safe place. It is so soft and comforting. I will stay here until I grow and develop, and until everything is all lined up to start my new life in this time and place. The wise ones assisted me in charting out my life plan and choosing those who would take part in it. The Mommy and Daddy I have chosen are very loving and giving people. My main objective is to grow in my love and make the world a better place. I think I am supposed to be a Cancer; I want to be sensitive and caring. I hope it all works out as planned. We'll see.

Mommy is a Taurus, very nurturing and earthy, a perfect mother. She knows the value of family; there are Grandmas and Grandpas and many, many aunts, uncles, and cousins. I will be surrounded by love. My Daddy is a Libra, such a sweet, loving person. I can tell he has a lot of friends and they all seem to really love him and enjoy being with him. He will teach me the value of friendships and the wisdom of weighing decisions by knowing all the facts. He will always be fair and will teach me to treat others fairly.

I can hear them talking about me. They seem to love and cherish me already. Mommy showed my ultrasound pictures to everyone she knows. They are both glad I am a girl and that I picked this time to come to them. Daddy had a sister who my Grandma Jeanne calls her "Angel Unaware." She is gone from them now but left behind many loving blessings for her family. I want to do the same. I want to be loved and to share my love with everyone. Mommy and Daddy don't have any other children yet; I will be their first. I like to think they were waiting just for me. So while they are teaching me all the skills I need to get along in this world, I am sure I can teach them something about love at the same time. It will be wonderful for all of us. Mommy and Daddy are both very smart and I know they will be able to teach me how to make the right choices and learn the lessons I need to learn in this life.

I'm inside Mommy and I go everywhere with her. She goes to work every day and I hear a lot of voices and phones ringing. Mommy loves to eat good things and they make me feel good. She loves music and when she plays her favorites I feel very happy. When she goes to bed and stretches out, it feels so good. I can move around and wiggle my body and stretch in all directions. When we both get comfortable and go to sleep I can hear her heart beating and know she is always with me, protecting me. Daddy's voice is never very far away; I feel so safe and loved.

They talk about my room, called a nursery, and how they are going to fix it up for me. There is going to be a baby shower and everyone will bring presents for Mommy and me. I can hardly wait. The presents will all go in my nursery to wait for me. I will keep on growing until I know it will be very tight and crowded in here. Then it will be time for me to meet my Mommy and Daddy.

When the time comes for me to be born, I hope I am not scared. I can barely remember going through this before a few times, way in the past. I don't want to hurt Mommy but I think it will all be worth it for all of us. I'll just be glad when that part is over. Mommy is hoping Daddy can make it through the whole thing. After that part is over and we can see each other, we will all be happy.

I have two Grandmas. Daddy's mom is Grandma Jeanne and Mommy's mom is Grandma Ginny. They sound alike but I don't think they are alike at all. Grandma Ginny goes to work every day and loves sports. Grandma Jeanne is older and retired and lives in the hills. I won't see her as often as Grandma Ginny, but they will both love me very much. I know they will love me and make me so happy.

For a little while longer I will just stay here and grow and be fat and contented until exactly the right time comes for me to be born. I will be the only one to know exactly when that time comes. But I'll let everyone know right away!
