Gone like a leaf in the wind

Your punishments leave me feeling nothing
no anger, no sorrow, or pain
and yet no happiness, nothing
for I know!

I know that its only for today
only today will your opinion matter
only today will your voice be heard

for tomorrow just like yesterday
will come and pass

and soon I will be gone
gone like a leaf in the wind
gone from you and you from me

and if fate let it be I might...
see you agin

But what will we say? Perhaps
"Hello, how are you!"
or will you and I just walk along

our two shadows touch
the darkness collide, but we will not notice...
the sudden break in time

And once more I'll be gone
