A poem about how complicated love can be, even when it's right |
I was so sure that I was right That it would not matter if We just waited one more night Nights turned into days Days into weeks I still continued to speak To convince you to believe To wait for me Now I know every moment apart Was an excuse to close down my heart Took you for granted from the very start I just hope it's not too late My emotions run crazy When it comes to love I am lazy Expecting you to read my mind Know my feelings all the time Even when I myself don't know How to let what you mean to me show It's so easy not to care Pretend you're not there When I need to retreat into me Except you follow into my soul You have more power than you know I am afraid to lose control The walls around my head and heart You are slowly tearing apart Sometimes I want to run away Just wait for you to save the day To prove yourself to me Ignoring that love is a two-way street I am ready to be what you need The woman you want me to be I hope you still see in me The woman who made you believe In love at first sight If what you say is right I am still here I have been hiding out in fear Now it feels like spring is near I am ready to bloom Not a moment too soon Time for me to prove to you That a future with me could be true If I am over-reacting, I don't care I need you to know the feelings are there My heart I am now willing to share My soul is reaching out to yours My love, it's you that I adore |
