Lover's Call

Love's call

Sent like mirages
upon my mind when he shares
in unexpected ways,
only a word
to fill my silent days.

Of a tide who swells
when no one hears
his sensuous call,
except to echo back
a lover's
smile.

A pearl to hold deeply
where things grow,
like coral
or poinsettia,
and sprout as seedlings
of joy.

And eventually unfolds
so tenderly,
ever sweetly
as dew.
