Inspired by God and Mary Jo Copeland.
A beautiful outdoor stadium, it will be
But what will the adoring baseball fan see?

A manicured lawn, every line so straight
Or the lost wanders tempting fate.

The matters before us, this new ball park
Shine a light upon us and expose the dark.

We long to experience game 6 again
That 2 run shot from Kirby's awesome stand

No one a memory longing is to blame
Trade life for an experience, what a shame.

Our wants our desires so out of line
Driven by our experiences over time

Revitalizing the warehouse district, so beautiful
But to build this ballpark, someone must go.

Labeled pushers, druggies, prostitutes whatever fright
To quiet our conscience to sleep at night.

We are all lost without the everlasting God
Those less fortunate have found the fraud.

For those that come, not want to be bothered
By the ones that were not lovingly mothered.

They exclaim this day is for them to enjoy
The baseball experience with their little boy.

A new ball park, something has to give
A change of heart or that memory re-lived.

This is my day exclaimed "to get away"
These people, not my problem, not my price to pay.

What will it take for us to awake?
To no longer, our brothers and sisters forsake.

The homeless life I do not envy
The desperation, despair of so many.

So hard to see the down and out as people too
Thank God for the Mary Jo Copeland's that do.

We want this problem to go away
So we can build a ballpark for a summer day.

How do we give hope to these so lost?
It's not a ballpark, but love at any cost.

It's the homeless, the hopeless that need our help
Not the season ticket holders which we scalp.

Money can build a park so grandeur
But only our open heart can endure.

It's here that our earthly desires collide
With the feelings that bubble from inside.

To build a ballpark a difference not harbored
But feared love's absence for our neighbor.
