A poem from fifth grade.By the way "Kia Ora" is maori (new zealander) for hi.
I can't hold much against a snail,
after all, they are so kind.
But I guess that's not what can be said
For what goes on inside my mind.

I was walking through the forest green and guess what came along
A slimy snail strollin' through, singing a snail song!
I SCREAMED! I jumped back, bumped my head
against a tree so high
(I admit I was a bit curious- he was only a little guy)

I shuffled a little closer
He didn't look like danger
He said, "Kia Ora! Come over here! I'm not some nasty stranger."

So I walked a few paces nearer
to talk, sit down and chat.
I found he ran a business- one that made little snail hats.

Said he,"They're made of finest wares- c'mere! come closer! look!
But when I went to see those little hats......

I slipped.
