AN UNSUNG HERO


He who toils in sun and rain,
Burning sands, biting snow,
Sows the seeds and tends the crops
To keep our hearths going;

He who labours in dingy
Ill-lit hovels called mills
From where churn out yards of cloth
To adorn our bodies;

He who faces bullets, bombs,
Far from his family,
So that he ensures peace for
All other countrymen.

Each of these, farmer, worker,
And the sturdy soldier
Is an unsung hero to
Whom I pay my tributes.
