mocha delight
thats what she was to him
beautiful as can be
full of warmth like the whip cream on his cup
grande mocha with cinnamon swirls in the center
her smile was sweet as the icing on his Devil's food cake
a chocolaty surprise she was to him
he looked down then up again
only to met her beaming dark brown eyes looking back at him
with full luscious lips she said
''may I join you''
he was lost for words
but beaconed her to an empty seat across from him
he wanted only to get lost in today's New York Times
but her presence alone had him lost in awe of her
they talked awhile
she was model
had her heartbroken a few times
she loved long walks on the beach
he sat and listened
that's who he was
a writer
a lover of many
an adventure
those few moments over latte's and mocha's
made the time stand still just once
and years later every time he woke
with the scent of her mocha delight next to him
he remembered those few moments over mocha's and latte's
when she first said
''may I join you''
