I finished my laundry, I folded the clothes
It’s all put away in closets and drawers
Except this one sock by itself in the basket
No where to be found is a sock that will match it
Why this odd sock, where is the mate
I always wear two socks, not one by mistake
And I never remove just one sock from my foot
They always come off the same time, I have looked
Between wearing and washing and getting them dry,
A sock disappears in the wink of an eye
And somewhere another lone sock goes to prove
There’s no keeping track of a sock once “footloose”
