No parent knows whither children’s fate goes,
Yet each does want to plan for his own child.
While doing so, parents may act like foes,
Imposing on them wishes often wild.
On our own future we have no control,
Yet we want to control that of others.
It’s as if while we cast vote in a poll,
We want to ensure we have the figures.
It’s best that children be independent
To do what they perceive to be the best.
When paternal advice is duly lent,
Why not let son’s discretion do the rest?
Why not let a story itself unfold?
Let not people say that it has been told.
