He hath what he wanted, Yet he yearned

He hath all that he wanted,
No soul hath such wealth and power,
He knew not what is suffering,
And yet-he was poor.

He hath all the status,
The Good Lord hath bequeath much,
He knew no vices and everything such,
And yet-he was poor.

He hath felt the need for more,
Though he thought he knew most,
He set to gather such till dusk,
And yet-he was poor.

He hath set upon a quest of riches,
Of all pleasures mundane,
But,alas,he knew not what is love,
And remained as poor as ever.......
