My Heart Is Encased In Ice

You told me you asked God to send you a good woman
You told me you dreamed of me and knew my face
You saw my picture, and the chase was on

I ignored you at first
Here goes another one that just sees the outside
My Heart was Encased In Ice
With pass scars and demons
With each passing day, with all your words of love and understanding
The ice around my heart started to melt

You said you loved me
You said you would make me your wife
You promised to never hurt me, to protect me from heartache
You promised to and crossed your heart
You would make all my dreams come true
You sent me the sign I needed to be sure
I cried with such joy
I told you then, you had given me the sign I needed to be sure
I told you how my heart hurt with so much love

Then I saw with my eyes, I wasn’t the only one
You promised to and crossed your heart too
You would make all their dreams come true too

You played my heart, like your guitar
You got inside of my heart and soul
You torn down all of my defenses
You played me; you played me like your guitar
You played my heart strings, until you had me right where you wanted me

In that one moment, I hit the floor, heart shattering in pieces
I scream out, God why, Dear God why
My Heart stopped mid beat with ice cold bitterness
Tears’ freezing on my face, to mark the fool I was, for every believing
Tears freezing on my face, to mark the fool I am, for every thinking that I was worthy of love
Tears freezing on my face, to remind me to never trust again

My Heart Is Encased In Ice, to never feel love again
My Heart Is Encased In Ice, to never know passion again
My Heart Is Encased In Ice, to never know warmth again
My Heart Is Encased In Ice, to never trust again
My Heart Is Encased In Ice, until my last breath
