WhyQuit advertising and marketing is not particularly successful & compare  other pollution and its detriment to health, with smoking.

Quit advertising looks ugly, rude and offensive. I mean, have you seen any smokers down at cafe's with cancerous eyes and mouths slurping down latte's?

If you want to sell something, you need to make it attractive to the buyer - the anti-smoking campaign is preaching to the converted, in my view.

Smoking as a pollutant? One small smoke stack against the roiling smoke stacks of industry? Doesn't add up, to me.

I wonder why smoker's are being picked on? Seems like a political  free  kick  to me. 'Takes people's minds off what's  really   going on in the world!

How much do cars, buses and trucks emit in fumes?

If everyone who smoked was to give up ( and cause great dismay to the governments around the world, who would then have a huge deficit in tax ) - then what are the other 'earth-pollutants' going to reciprocate with?

Non recyclable and non-biodegradable products like baby disposable nappies and women's sanitary products? Sorry girls, but those products are being stacked up... where?  *Laugh* ... Sorry! No Butts about it!

Smoking may cause some people to have serious health problems; so does alcohol and prescription medication. Are we going to ban everything? *Rolleyes*

Apart from the moral pros and cons - who are the (mostly) un-elected protagonists of the anti-smoking campaign and their supporters to breach civil rights?

Here it comes !

A Brave New World *Shock*

(a book written by Aldous Huxley)

* (1932) is one of the most bewitching and insidious works of literature ever written.  Brave New World has come to serve as the false symbol for any regime of universal happiness.
