The first big snow

The weather said be prepared to see 4 to 6 inches
A blanket on the ground
what will we do ?
Go to the store to get milk and sugar
time for some snow cream
all sweet and good
break out the sled
for a slide down the hill
or maybe dad's old truck
for a ride down the road
watch out now ,don't get stuck
in that white stuff you love so much
Eyes full of wonder all bundled up
gloves and hats and all that stuff
must get all cozy and warm mama says
before we go out to play in the cold wet stuff
we build a snowman with a big round head
don't forget his pipe and hat for his head
we move on down and make his body too
give him a scarf and a button or two
it's so much fun to see the first big snow
we wait anxiously to see it you know
we don't get to see the white beautiful stuff
so when they are calling for the big snow
outside is where we want to go
all covered with it from head to toe
there is nothing more beautiful than the first big snow.
