The Snail and the Man in the Make-up

Good Morning
The little creature clings to my door
Tucked in and cosy as I venture out to work.

Robotic routine, nothing changes
The monitor hums the keyboard click clicks
As morning creeps into evening.

The sun becomes an orange pastille
And I take that same journey home.
But that man is wearing make-up!

And the snail is awake now,
Making her journey northwards
To my doorbell
