a simple poem
never thought, of never intended,
but yet, it had been.
and sitting and pondering
she wondered then
in the world of sorrow
death and hate,
had she found love
in this ridiculous fate?
never believed,
had she in that
but as she looked to the sky
from the beach which she sat,
her hand felt so perfect
fitted in his
and she figured perhaps
this really is
what life is about,
and a goal worth being set,
and she smiled in thinking
of the day that they met.

the waves lapped the sand
and the gulls flew above,
and as she woke from her dream
of some sweet, sweet love,
she smiled in hope,
that perhaps it was more,
a premonition
not too long before
she would walk away
and see someone
and smile in the knowledge
that they were the one.
