Is it wrong to hope for better humanity? |
NOTE: This poem was written as a response to a poem called "This That and the Other" by E from a Blog Group called L. I. F. E. (Living in Fear Everywhere) http://blogs.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=blog.view&friendID=223527654&blogI... Maybe Not Is it wrong to love us? Us, meaning humanity Is it wrong to dream of a brighter tomorrow? Is it wrong to hope for the better? To finish the story To know we have done something to answer at least one injustice And while we think of judgment We are not too feeble to judge ourselves To strive for fairness and impartiality So that the punishment does fit the crime Or are you right when you begin to think it will be nothing as everything else is………? Do you know? Or more important, do you care? What have we achieved through giving up? So much can be done to make one day count If you allow for it, it only takes one for everything to matter The struggles are signs that we are free Many things have changed through our rights and our wrongs, it does matter Is it wrong to say it's more than this, that, or the other? Yes, society is rather corrupt But do not despair, there are enough who aren't greed driven and addicted to money Some do show bravery despite fences and hooks And there are even some people who are well content with just a little Strange as it sounds But the green paper can be rendered powerless Young and old can be taught to give it a rest Lives may one day be dearly sought The vicious circle unclasped There is so much to keep going for Sorry, I doubt it |
