This Is Who I Am





What do you see when you look at me?

What can you find beneath my exterior?

Do you see what others see?

Or do you judge me to make me feel inferior?





I am who I am!

I am a gift.

I am a gift from God unwrapped at birth.

In His eyes I'm considered special.

He sees me as being someone of great worth.




Do you really think you know who I am?

Have you witnessed the things I've done?

Have you seen the prizes I've won?

Do you know any of my life's plans?




I am a true believer of Jesus Christ,

Who continues on to his desires.

I am a lover and a fighter.

I love those who can tell me

That I've made it from the evil places I should've been,

And I'm a fighter of what I believe in.




In what ways do you describe me?

Are they qualities that the world can see?

Or are they just your assumptions of me?

I am only the person God has created me to be.




I may have fallen many times before,

But here I continue to stand.

Because I have a purpose

And I still hold the desire to show you that

I am worth so much more.




Take me as I am,

But don't expect me to change in any way.

Only the Lord can change me in a different way.
