Incomplete at the moment, a different view of my Behind the 'Pyre world.
“Get him! Shoot ‘em!” 20-year-old Lucas Archer yelled as he chased a rival gang member down the cracked sidewalks of Detroit, Michigan. Running with him was several members of his own gang, the Wolves. The prey dashed around a corner and disappeared. “You idiots! You lost him!” Lucas shoved one of his gunmen. He huffed and paced a bit, then calmed down.
“Come one, we’ll get some leads on him at school, man.” Another wolf said, pocketing his gun.

Monday
Miss Hana Taylor, the new English teacher, reorganized her desk as she waited for her first class to show. From what she’d heard, this class would be the one to cause he the most grief. It contained ten students who were well known for their behavioral problems.
The bell finally rang and the class slowly began to filter in to fill the desks. A tall young man with a strong build and long, sandy blond hair was the last to enter. His eyes were a feral, tawny brown and he had no books, and no bag, just a bad attitude and a murderous glint. He sauntered to take a seat in the back. Hana watched him with a disguised interest, puzzled by what her instincts were telling her.
“Morning class, I am your new English teacher, Ms. Hana Taylor.”
No one seemed to be paying her any mind as they talked amongst each other, performing secret handshakes with some and avoiding others. The young man in the back stared at her as he whispered to one of his friends. Hana put a friendly smile on her face and opened her role book.
“Kylie Brontise?”
“What up,” a young woman replied from somewhere in the middle of the room. After marking the girl present, the teacher continued down her list, getting various uninterested responses until she reached the last and late entry. “Lucas Archer?”
“Remember my name, baby, you’ll be screaming it later.” The students ‘ooh’ed and laughed as the man in the back spoke up. She raised a brow.
“I’m glad to see I’ve found the class smart aleck.”
“He ain’t no leader of ours!” A guy in front replied, rising to his feet. Lucas rose to his feet and made his way to the guy’s desk. Hana cautiously stepped out from behind her desk, ready to intervene if necessary.
“I’d shut up if I were you. You know what happened to the last sucker who crossed me.” Lucas growled. “Sit down!” He shoved the guy back down in his seat.
“Good, he’s sitting, could you do the same, please?” Hana asked, trying to be polite to a kid bigger than she was.
“Shut. Up.” HE snarled. “Does anyone else wanna try me?” HE eyed the other students in the room, daring anyone to speak up. Closing her eyes and stemming a sigh that threatened to escape her lips, Hana gave him a firm, but gently mental push back toward his chair. Lucas shot her an odd look, he own eyes glowing slightly, but Hana just opened her eyes and looked at him.
“Please, sit.” He obliged, remaining relatively silent.
“Dude, something’s up with this lady. She ain’t human.” He whispered to a fellow wolf.
“Thank you.” She turned to the whiteboard, picked up a marker and began to teach. Just before the bell to end class, she gave out the homework assignment. “I want all of you to go home tonight and write me a story telling me just who you are.” Lucas, after being rather quiet for the majority of the class period, spoke up again.
“Most of ‘em are murder/mystery.”
“I’ve heard quite a few of those in my life.”
“Well, let me tell you somethin’. Telling you is called ‘confessing’ and that’s a one-way ticket to the pen.” The bell rang and the students quickly left.

Hana sighed as she dropped her bag by the door of her apartment. “Marie? You home?” Her roommate, a red-haired, pale-skinned young woman very different from her own brunette, tanned looks stepped into the foyer.
“I am, how was your first day?” Hana wrinkled her nose.
“Horrible. They don’t really want to do anything. There’s this one, smart-mouthed flunkie. He’s twenty and still in the eleventh grade!” She collapsed into an armchair with a sigh. “With the way he talks, I wouldn’t mind sending a Blodwyn to meet him in a dark alley. Also, he’s a wolf-were.” Marie poured a glass of red liquid for her friend from a bottle labeled ‘R neg’ and handed it to her. “Thanks.”
“No problem. I’m on my way out. I’ll be back later.”
“Alright, I’ll be fine. See ya later.”
“See yas.”

“Luke, baby, you’re awfully distracted today.” His girlfriend, nineteen-year-old Cynthia ‘Cyn’ Felix, crooned, wrapping her arms around his waist and kissing the corner of his mouth. She was also his second-in-command, leader of the female Wolves. “What’s up?”
“Nothing.” He wrinkled his nose, then kissed her fully. She smiled.
“That’s better.”
“Listen, I have business to take care of tonight, wanna come?”
“Yeah, sure.”
“It’s gonna be bloody.”
“I’m not afraid of blood.”
“I know, but don’t wear any nice clothes.”
“These aren’t nice.”
“They’re about to be nonexistent...”
“Oh?” Her eyes lit up.
“Yeah.” He bared his long fangs.
“Why?”
“’Cause I’m gonna rip ‘em off!” Lucas growled, grabbing her butt and pulling her against him. She giggled.
“And your ‘business?’”
“Can wait just a little while.”

“Alright, I want you two to patrol the park and BE STEALTHY. Keith’s gang hangs around here. I want his head.” Lucas demanded, pointing to his two followers. “Cyn, you’re with me, baby.”
“Wouldn’t wanna be anywhere else.”
“Wolves, move out!” The small crowd dispersed, leaving the two Alphas to roam.
“Where are we going?”
“We’re hunting that idiot, Keith. He ruined a drug deal and cost me money.”
“Ooh, a hunt...”
“Yeah, baby, let’s rock.” Lucas sniffed the air and took off toward the south. “I smell a dead man!” He laughed. Cynthia also laughed, following right behind him.
