Each of us has a cross to bear
in a troubled world so full of care,
yet I think of the One who came
and loved us sinners just the same.
His cross was heavy, still He tried
to make His way known before He died,
"Forgive them, Father" was his plea,
as He made his way to Calvary.
So long ago, yet so close to our hearts,
His message lives on and hope imparts;
that we might take up the cross and try
to make this a better world before we die.
A healing touch, love for all mankind,
we have the opportunity now to find
in our hearts the will to love and forgive,
the message is ours as well as His.
Each of us has a cross to bear
in a troubled world so full of care,
yet I think of the One who came
and loved us sinners just the same.
