A poem about our world, the distress, and simple solution...the contrasts of life |
Stillness and silence encompass me. All is calm, yet tumultuous. All seems in place, yet complete chaos is hovering over my head. The cacophonous mixed melody of the two worlds played before me. Was it just a thought? Physical, emotional, spiritual... Perhaps...it was everything. That was it. It was the whole world. Before my eyes. The sinful people with few gentle spirits.... I see parades, musicals, movies, circuses, parties... I see poverty-striken workers, I see decadent cities, I see tortured believers....i see... My world, our world. Is it a beautiful sight? Is it a beautiful sound?...the noise at times puts a large burden on my narrow shoulders. It was the whole world. Before my eyes. I saw hurricanes, tornadoes, and earthquakes. I hear screaming and shrieking at the gates of those who are dying...why? They don’t know. They have not yet understood. What am I to do? It is the whole world. Before my eyes. As I fix my gaze upward, to the glorious sky, I hear a small, still voice, hardly utter... “Go.” “Go where?” I ask. “I will tell you. Go. Live. Be. Share. Act. Do something, do not just watch... As if it isn’t about you.” “Is it about me” ...it starts with me. It starts with my problems, my issues. That is the beginning of the error...then, I will go. Go. GO and tell the world...of grace that can save It is the whole world. Before my eyes. I cannot escape without doing something... We must change the melody We must change the contrast... We must find love... It is God’s whole world....before my eyes. |
