This was written from a picture - a forest scene.
Their large ears cocked forward,
they stop...and listen:
all is still in the forest-
just an own - hooting - here, there.
Night is falling.
They settle down.
The forest is desolate in the winter;
the white snow blankets the ground.
Close together - for warmth, for protection -
the deer lie down.
Night is falling.
All is quiet
in the forest.
