A Cat Watching the Moon

There’s a cat sitting on my fence,
A normal thing for a cat to do.
There’s just one thing that doesn’t make sense.
She’s gazing at the moon.

As she stares into the night,
I wonder what’s to see,
In that glowing ball of white.
It baffles me.

I see her golden eyes begin to glow.
What’s going on inside her head?
I realize I’ll likely never know,
And return to bed.
