So This is Love

Is not love a winding highway?
‘Tis filled with twists and turns.
It goes up, down, this and that way.
Along this path we learn.

A raging river: this is love,
Which calls to us with song.
And once we’re in the midst thereof,
The world’s as good as gone.

Love starts as a flickering flame
That grows into a fire.
When added to, you cannot tame
The burning of desire.

So this is love in truest form
Thus to remain ‘till earth be torn.
